MetaBid Example

You have just received all RFI's for an online bidding project that involves sourcing cardboard boxes. After reviewing all RFI's, you have found that John Jones from XYZ Manufacturing, Inc. has provided extensive information indicating that he and his company are head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to corrugated boxes. To make sure the Live Event reflects XYZ Manufacturing good standing, you would like to apply a 5% discount to all bids placed by John Jones. Or, because he and his company are so far ahead of the competition, you would like to indicate this by applying a discount to his bids.

    1. Select and expand the project in the Connections and Projects tree. Click on the toolbar to open the Project Attendee Setup window
    2. Select "John Jones", click on the toolbar, and select Edit Attendee Properties.

About Percent Factors
When using percent factors, remember that the minimum bid decrement amount, in addition to price amounts, will be affected by the MetaBid factor amount. (The bid decrement is not affected when you use nominal amounts.)

For example, the following image displays lot information for a bidder without a MetaBid factor applied to them, therefore, all price and bidder decrement amounts are original and actual:

T next image displays lot information for a bidder with a 5% discount MetaBid factor. Notice how the start price and bidder decrement amounts reflect the 5% discount factor. Or, the original $500.00 minimum bid decrement amount is 5% higher ($526.32). Also, the $102,500 start price amount is now 5% higher.
