Closing Projects

Closing a project moves it to the Historical Projects branch of the Connections and Projects tree. Any incomplete activities are still recorded as incomplete but they will no longer appear on user's To Do Lists.

For your records, after a project has reached its due date, you have the option to input the savings data that was achieved from the project into Iasta SmartSource. This data can contribute to project analysis in Iasta SmartSource reports.

»To close a project

    1. Select and expand the project in the Connections and Projects tree and click on the toolbar to open the Project Properties wizard. Click Next to page through he wizard to get to the Project Classification page.
    2. In the Project Status field, select a status from the drop down menu that will make the project closed. Iasta SmartSource initially provides two default statuses that make a project closed, "Completed - Awarded" and "Completed - Did not award".

NOTE: Although Iasta SmartSource provides these default statuses, subdomain administrators can add and delete statuses as well as control whether each status makes a project published and closed. For more information, see Project Statuses.

To enter information about the value and savings of a project enter information in the following fields:

NOTE: Subdomain administrators can change the currency type used in the savings information fields with the Subdomain Options tool. For more information, see Other Options.

Project Classification Window

    1. Click Next to navigate to the end of the wizard and click Finish. Iasta SmartSource moves the project from the Current Projects branch of the Connections and Projects tree to the Historical Projects branch.
