Clause Variation Properties

Each clause can have multiple variations. Rules based on data entered in custom fields can control which variation of the clause is used each time a contract document containing the clause is generated. If no rules are created, the user who generates the document can select from a list of variations.

»To create a variation of a clause

    1. Open the Clause Variation window by clicking the New Variation button on the toolbar of the Rules and Variations window.
    2. Enter a name and description for the variation in the  General Information section.
    3. In the Variation Text area: Enter the text of the variation and use the toolbar buttons to format the text. You can insert contract field data and references to other clauses with the Insert Field and Insert Reference buttons
    4. Click OK to return to the Rules and Variations window.
