Evaluating Survey Responses

The purpose of surveys is two-fold: it enables project sponsors to distribute information about the project to bidders and to collect information from them. Generally sponsors want to evaluate the survey responses so they can compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages of various bidders and consider them when making sourcing decisions.

When a survey response is submitted, the project attendees who are designated as survey evaluators can review them. Depending on the configuration of the survey, evaluators may be responsible for scoring and entering comments for bidders responses to individual survey questions.

Users cannot evaluate survey responses until either the due date is past or all bidders have submitted their responses. When a bidder submits their survey response they can no longer make changes to it, regardless of the survey's due date.

NOTE: Survey owners and administrators can also evaluate survey responses even if they are not designated as evaluators.

Evaluating from the Iasta SmartSource Portal or Desktop

Users can evaluate surveys from the Iasta SmartSource Portal or the Iasta SmartSource Desktop.

The Iasta SmartSource Portal is a website so you aren't required to install any software to use it. Additionally, the portal site has fewer features and functions than the Iasta SmartSource Desktop application so it's simpler to find projects and navigate through the streamlined interface. From the Iasta SmartSource Portal Site, evaluators view each question in the survey followed by the responses from all respondents.

With Iasta SmartSource Desktop, evaluators have more control over how information is presented during the evaluation. They can select which questions and which respondents they want to see when evaluating.
