Question Attachments

You can attach links to an external URL, files on your computer, or files in the Iasta SmartSource Document Library.

»To attach a link to an external URL

Select and expand the project in the Connections and Projects tree and click the Surveys branch
Iasta SmartSource displays a list of surveys in the right pane. Click the Edit link under a survey to open it in the Survey Editor window.
Select or add the question where you want to attach the link then click inside the Question text entry field in the right pane.
Click the link button on the toolbar and select "External URL."

NOTE: Make sure your cursor is within the question text area; otherwise, the icon is disabled.

Iasta SmartSource displays the External URL window. Type the full URL for the attachment and click OK. The link appears in the Question text entry field and will be available to respondents when they view the question.

»To add an attachment from your computer or the document library

Select and expand the project in the Connections and Projects tree and click the Surveys branch
Iasta SmartSource displays a list of surveys in the right pane. Click the Edit link under a survey to open it in the Survey Editor window.
Select or add the question where you want to attach the link then click inside the Question text entry field in the right pane.
Click the link button on the toolbar and select "Attach File"

NOTE: Make sure your cursor is within the question text area; otherwise, the icon is disabled.

Enter information in the following fields:

File Name: Click to browse and select the file you want to import then click Open or click to browse for the file in the Document Library, select the file name you want to attach, then click Finish.
Name: Enter a brief descriptive name for the attachment.
Description: Enter a more detailed description of the attachment.
Attachment Access: Indicate where users will be able to access the attachment.

Private--This attachment will only appear in this Survey: Attached file is available from the survey. You cannot view it in the project's Attachments section.
Public--This attachment will be visible in the Project's Attachments section: Attached file is viewable in the question as well as under the Attachment branch of the project in the Connections and Projects tree. For more information, see Attachments.

NOTE: Deleting an attachment from a project's Attachment branch will remove all references to the attachment, including links to the attachment in survey questions. If you want to remove it from Project Attachments but keep the link in the survey question, you must delete the attachment and then edit the survey and reattach it to the question.

Click Finish. A link to the attachment appears in the question text.
