Project Settings

The Project Settings window is part of the Create New Project wizard and is also available when you edit Project Properties.

Fields in the Project Settings Window

Competitor Display: Determine what information about competitors will be visible to bidders:

Bidder Name: Bidders see the full company names of all of the participants (bidders) in the project. In general, this option is NOT recommended due to possible bidder collusion concerns.
Bidder Letter Only: Bidders see other bidders represented by a random code letter, e.g. Supplier C. This option protects the identity of the bidders but still allows the other bidders to see the dynamics of the Live Event which can spur additional competition. Iasta recommends this option unless there is a compelling reason to hide the number of bidders involved.
Bidders Do Not See Any Competitors: Bidders cannot see any information at all about other bidders and cannot determine how many other bidders are participating in the project. The amount of bid information they will see is dictated by the Bid Display.

NOTE: Competitor Display options are not applicable to Dutch Auction projects. With Dutch Auctions, bidders never see any information about competitors.

Bid Value: Determine what information about the project bids will be visible to bidders:

Show All Bid Values: Bidders see their bid, and all competitors bids during the project. This allows bidders to know exactly how much they would need to improve their bids to attain a certain rank.
Show winning Bid Value Only: Bidders see their own bid and the current best bid for a specific lot.
NOTE: Bidders cannot see the currency denomination of the other bids.
Do Not Show Any Bid Values: Bidder sees no information about other bids. Bidders will not know the current winning bid amount.

Bid Rank: Determine what information about the project bids will be visible to bidders:

Show Ranks for All Bidders: Bidders see their rank and the ranks of competitors bids during the project. This allows bidders to know exactly how much they would need to improve their bids to attain a certain rank.
Show Lowest rank only: Shows bidder whether they are the lowest bidder but not where they rank in the community of bidders.

FlexRank: Administrators, spectators, and bidders can dynamically calculate multi-lot bids and savings during the Live Event.

NOTE: FlexRank is not available for Dutch Auction projects. With Dutch Auctions, bidders cannot receive information about how their bid ranks among other submitted bids.

Instant Messaging: Attendees can use the instant messenger tool that is integrated into Iasta SmartSource to communicate with the Message Manager. It also enables the Project Administrator to communicate with attendees.
Project Management: Enable the Project Management module, which allows administrators to schedule project activities, keep internal notes to assist in bidder tracking, and create automated triggers for the project. Project Management also generates the project timeline for tracking your project.
MetaBid Formulas: Adjust bids according to custom fields and formulas. Setup formulas by editing properties on a bidder project attendee. For Dutch Auctions MetaBid formulas are always enabled. You can choose to configure adjustments on individual project attendees.
Forum: Enable bidders to send questions to the Project Owner, who can publish private replies to the person who submitted the question or a public reply to anyone who accesses the forum.
Advanced...: Click the Advanced button to open the Advanced Settings Window with these tabs for setting additional options for the projects:

In most cases, the default settings for advanced options will meet your needs but occasionally you may want to customize the advanced settings for an individual project. Some information captured in this window is used in the Standard Template to create Project Documents.

Use these buttons to navigate:

Back: Returns to the Classifications page where you can assign the project to various categories, set project status, enter original project value, projected savings, and implemented savings for the project.
Next: When creating a new project, Next opens the Lot Group Properties page for entering information about the first lot group for the project. If you're creating a new Dutch Auction project, Next opens the Event Properties page because there are no lot groups for Dutch Auction projects. If you are editing an existing project, Next opens the Lots and Items setup page where you can add, remove, and edit lots and items.
Cancel: Exits the wizard without saving your changes.
